By Kay Olson Now is also a good time to start planting some flowers! Pansies, snapdragons, violas - all of these beauties offer a nice pop of color in your flowerbed, when it might be a bit too early for other types of blossoms. The next few weeks are when things get interesting. Daylight savings is Sunday, when we spring forward an hour. Classes are letting out for Spring Break. Spend some quality time with the people you love, or in your own lovely company. Give us a call anytime! | Congratulations! You survived Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday. (If you don’t celebrate those holidays, you should still have a small party for yourself because you’re worth it.) Today marks International Women’s Day, and with it, an opportunity for a wealth of growth. You can visit the International Women’s Day March and Rally at the UNM Bookstore at 5 pm, the Raindrop Albuquerque at 6:30 pm for Ladies Coffee Night of the Spring Season, or enjoy the release of Captain Marvel and feel that awesome surge of Girl Power. Whatever way you choose to celebrate, don’t forget to give your yard a boost, too! Before you get caught up in Daylight Savings, be sure to put down weed barrier and mulch (which comes in a variety of forms), and helps keep in the moisture while fighting those pesky weeds. It makes a huge difference to your soil, and keeps your yard looking healthy. |

Robert HairstonI've been immersed in the residential yard care industry since 1990. I've just about seen it all: overgrown lawns, horrible irrigation systems, sodding, seeding, planting, planning landscape in microclimates, and I've mowed lawns, aerated, power raked and cleaned more yards than I can remember. In this blog we will offer some tips that will help you care for your yard each month. Even though many of these entries are from years past, most of the articles are still relevant to our current conditions. Archives
