At 19, Rob began his venture in 1990 with a mower, line trimmer, blower, and the purchase of a truck and trailer. Despite the challenges of building a business through flyer distribution and word-of-mouth, his determination never wavered. A few years in, Vivian joined him, and together they have sustained their small enterprise. Their services remain straightforward: mowing, trimming, blowing, aerating, power raking, cleanups, and minor landscaping for homes and small businesses. "Our commitment is to provide personal, high quality as well as friendly and dependable service," Robert states. For Rob and Vivian, it's a privilege to be chosen by customers for their landscaping needs at QLC. A smaller business size allows for a personal approach and close collaboration with their employees. "The business has greatly benefited our family, offering valuable work experience to three of our children. Currently, Vanessa, our daughter, assists with billing and office duties while studying for her teaching degree at UNM," Robert shares. Vivian handles calls, schedules services, and supports the office overall. In The Office - Vanessa Hairston
Vanessa Hairston
Vanessa, our younger daughter, was raised around the business and understands the work required in the field. She has hands-on experience, having mowed lawns, weeded, and assisted with cleanups to grasp the demands placed on our field staff. Now working full-time in the office, she plays a crucial role by generating invoices, managing billings, and overseeing receivables. Additionally, she handles phone calls, manages emails, and assists Rob and Vivian in maintaining customer relations.
