Low Maintenance Doesn't Mean No Maintenance Don't forget that, technically, fall runs all the way to December 21st. Don’t be fooled by those super fast store seasons. I mean come on, Christmas stuff can at least wait until after Halloween!!! No matter, because as much as the stores like to push, Mother Nature does not like to be rushed. Just because it looks like Nature is starting to fall asleep, that doesn’t mean you should. There’s work to do and now is a great time to do it! |
Water By Number If you haven't been paying attention you might not have noticed that our watering schedule has changed again. Generally in November you should really only be watering once a week. To the right is a list of how much to water the different types of plants and how often you should do it. Water when it's warm It's easier for water to get down into the ground and get absorbed by the roots when it's a bit warmer. So if you have a couple of warm days you might want to plan to water then. Different plants need different amounts of water to different extents, be sure to check your watering schedule to make sure it's right for them. Winterizing Your Pond Clean waterfalls, ponds and fountains for winter. Just a simple pond cleanup for the winter is all that is really needed at the moment. Something to make sure everything is in order for the winter months. You may also want to set pond plants deeper in your pond, if needed, to prevent freezing. Keep the water flowing or use a deicer to allow gases to escape. |
